Data Science Institute
The Data Science Institute acts as an access point to the University’s expertise in data science, facilitates interactions between data science researchers and problem holders, and owns the University’s data science strategy.

Heilbronn Institute for Mathematical Research
The Heilbronn Institute is a national centre supporting research across a range of areas of mathematics in the UK, run as a partnership between the UK Government Communications Headquarters and the UK academic mathematics community. Manchester is home to the institute's northern office, and hosts a team of around 12 Heilbronn Research Fellows, and also PhD students as part of the Heilbronn Doctoral Partnership.

With its hub at the University, the Henry Royce Institute is the UK national centre for advanced materials and exists to accelerate innovation of advanced materials and to support the commercialisation of research.

Manchester Centre for Nonlinear Dynamics
A collaborative centre comprised of mathematics and physics researchers, research within this centre is based upon the application of a combined approach of theoretical modelling, computation and detailed quantitative experimental investigations of nonlinear phenomena.

Manchester Institute for Mathematical Sciences (MIMS)
MIMS organises core and interdisciplinary research activities in mathematics and is the research arm of the Department of Mathematics. It is located within the Alan Turing Building and has dedicated research space within the building.

Manchester X-Ray Imaging Facility
The MXIF is an EPSRC Small Facility, providing world-leading tomography capability for all academic and commercial users. Its suite of x-ray imaging systems allow imaging across the full spatial scale and permit in situ experiments.
